We provide in-house expertise on the survey of birds using appropriately licensed surveyors. We also undertake collision risk modelling for wind farm and power line impact assessments. Survey methods include Vantage Point watches (VPs), Breeding Bird Surveys (BBS), winter bird assemblage surveys and nest searches. We also utilise remote recording devices specially adapted for acoustic monitoring of bird species such as long-eared owl and nightjar. Whether you require pre-works checks for nesting birds or flight activity monitoring to inform an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), we can provide specialist ornithological services.
Examples of projects which are likely to require bird survey work include:
change of land use
demolition works and ground clearance
bridge/viaduct maintenance and restoration works
tree felling/pruning
ecological impact assessment including wind farm developments, power line, road and rail construction, quarry works and residential developments
